Welcome to another beautiful week. When an idea sparks that I think is worth sharing, it becomes this weekly newsletter. If something hits home, write back. I love conversations. This is Weekly Spark #19.
Hey friend,
This week on the IgnitedNeurons Podcast, I explored something we do a million times a day but rarely reflect on: making decisions.
From the clothes we wear, to the careers we pursue, to the companies we build, our life is nothing but a series of choices and consequences.
And here’s the insight that stayed with me: We don’t just make decisions. Decisions make us.
👤 Decisions as Individuals
Every personal choice adds up. What you eat, how you spend your time, whether you exercise or not. These aren’t just habits. They are investments that compound into your future self.
The invitation? Pause. Ask: Does this decision align with who I want to become?
🤝 Decisions in Teams
Teams live and die by decisions. From strategy calls to unspoken moments in meetings, the choices teams make (or avoid) shape their culture.
The best teams create a safe space where people can share ideas, challenge assumptions, and decide together. The worst teams let fear or silence make decisions for them.
The question to ask: Does this decision move us closer to trust and progress—or away from it?
🏢 Decisions in Organisations
Organisations are remembered not for their products, but for their decisions. To innovate or to stagnate. To prioritise values or compromise them. To embrace change or resist it.
The lesson? Every organisational decision sends a message to employees, customers, and society about what truly matters.
🎯 The 5×5 Lens
In our podcast, we spoke about a simple way to look at decisions through different layers- from the individual to the team, society, nation, and global.
And across five building blocks - identity, personality, purpose, motivation, and trade.
You don’t need to master the framework to benefit from it. Just zoom out. See your decision in more than one dimension. Ask yourself:
Who does this decision impact?
What values does it align with?
What consequence will I create - intentionally or unintentionally?
💬 Final Spark
Every decision is a mirror. It shows you who you are, what you value, and what future you’re willing to build.
So here’s my question for you this week:
👉🏽 What decision have you been postponing and what might happen if you finally made it?
With clarity,
Utkarsh Coach | Podcast Host | Builder of better decisions
